Jinifer Cooper, ABO, FNAO, MADOC

28 years experience in the Optometry and Ophthlamology fields
LEA department: Director of Business Office

I was born and raised in Mississippi, graduated from Southwest Mississippi Community College, and married my high school sweetheart. We are very proud of two children. In the fall our oldest daughter will start her Junior year at Texas A&M (whoop!).

Throughout my career I have done it all, from frame-styling and edging lenses as an optician, to tech-ing doing pre-testing and diagnostic testing. But I really love getting to comb through the details of a patient chart and accounts, and keeping our insurance and patient accounts current. I also am the queen of giving our team "nicknames".

My greatest joy is my children, especially getting to see each of them succeed in their goals. We love to vacation in Destin, Florida, spend time with family, watch movies (at the "picture show") and go fishing or camping.

LEA department: Business office, Vision Plan Filing and Patient Accounts

I am new to the Longview Eye family, but my prior work background is medical billing and patient accounts. Today, you can find me working away in the business office filing vision claims, posting payments, and sending out patient statements. My goal at work is to help our patients understand why they are being billed and making our outstanding accounts current.

My greatest joys in life are my children, and if I'm not in the office crunching numbers you can find me with a good book, fishing or refurbishing furniture.

LEA department: First Impressions, Scheduling and Phone Reception

When you call our office, I am one of the sweet voices you'll hear on the phone. My favorite part of my job is verifying insurance benefits for exams that I schedule. I aim to do my best in my position at Longview Eye.

I love having a clean house, cooking, and reading a good book, but my greatest joys in life are my kids! If I'm not in the office, you can find me at one of my kid's ballgames, going to church, drinking coffee or spending time with my family.

LEA department: Part-time administrative help around the office

I recently started my career at Longview Eye Associates, and have really enjoyed greeting our patients, making them feel comfortable. It makes my day better knowing I've helped someone else. I previously worked in the nursing field, but recently returned to work in the First Impressions department. I am one of the first smiling faces you'll see when you come for your exam!

Although I have survived a lot of tragedy in my lifetime, my greatest joy is knowing I can help others, and that I will see my children again someday! I spend my free time volunteering with the Pink Heels Organization, with my church family, antiquing, dancing, and listening to music.

LEA department: First Impressions, Welcome Desk

Prior to recently joining the LEA family, I worked in reception for a busy ophthalmology group practice. You can find me parked at the front desk, greeting patients and getting their paperwork ready for them to see the doctor. My goal is to be trained in all areas of the reception office at LEA.

My greatest joy in life is being married to my husband and sharing our wonderful life together. My mantra is to Love to Live Life to the Fullest. When I'm not at work I love to be outdoors: camping, fishing, doing yard work, or going to festivals.

6 Years Experience in the Optometry Field
LEA department: Patient Care Team

I have had over 5 years experience in the Optometry field, but I am a new addition to the Longview Eye Associates family! Around here you used to find me in the reception area, usually on a phone or talking with a patient about their visit and their insurance benefits. But now I've transitioned to the Patient Care Team. I'm excited to learn this part of the process and have more time directly interacting with our patients.

I don't have much free time, because I am busy with my kids and fiance. I'm also going to school full-time to earn a degree in medical billing and coding (because I love it so much). My personal goal is to be better than I was yesterday!

My greatest joy in life is my family: my wonderful husband and I have been married for 28 years, and my favorite people call me "Mom" and "Gigi". I have been a part of the Longview Eye family since 2012, and one of the favorite parts of my job is building relationships with our patients.

You can find me all over the office... well, it's better to call for me on a headset, because I'm usually all over the office helping manage our patient flow as our lead tech. At busy times I back up our techs and scribes. I also send patient records to other offices, correspond with pharmacies, or return patient calls.

One day my husband and I will retire in Destin, Florida. We love spending time at the beach, or with our three grand-babies ,or four grown kids! I love catching a you can find me watching Hallmark movies, HGTV or Christmas movies.

LEA department: Patient Care Team & Contact Lens

I'm an East Texas transplant from Aledo, Texas, and enjoy fishing, camping, and the outdoors. I have 2 beautiful daughters and a wonderful husband of 8 years. On Sundays we enjoy church and family time with our 2 big dogs.

Around LEA you can find me buzzing back and forth between the exam rooms and pre-testing. I'm responsible for preliminary testing and taking patient histories, before the doctor gives the patient the rest of the eye exam. I love when interesting cases come through the office, and I really love getting to help our many patients.

I have a personal goal of finishing my certification to be a Para-Optometric certification.

I am 100% East Texan, living all but 3 years of my life in or around Gilmer. Three beautiful young ladies call me "Mom", and I also have the most awesome 2 year old grandson who loves to snapchat his "Gammy". This is my greatest Joy in life.

At LEA you can find me in an exam room helping with pre-testing for patient exams, or performing special diagnostic testing on patients with different eye diseases. I love getting to learn about new technology that helps us better understand different patient conditions. I also love getting to know our patients and letting them get to know me.

I enjoy the outdoors--fishing, gardening, repurposing furniture and even mowing the yard--but I absoulutely love GOLF! I'm not good at is, but I'd play everyday if I could mostly because I like driving the cart!

LEA department: Director of Eyewear Gallery

I have been a part of the Longview Eye Associates family for over 5 years, serviing as the manager for the Eyewear Gallery. I have the cutest blue-eyed boy named Jett. We love Lobo football games, spending the weekend at Beaver's Bend, and taking trips to Disneyworld.

Around here I'm usually in our Eyewear Gallery helping patients look their best in our designer frames. You may see me in a different pair of glasses every day of the week. I love seeing patients try their glasses on for the first time, seeing them realize how good they can see and how good they look too.

As long as I have my Jesus and coffee (and makeup) I can make it through anything!
